My soul must sing.
So the first week of classes is going really well. My Greek class is (so far) not as scary as I thought it would be. Modern Archaeology is Speaking Intensive and Wednesday's class was canceled, so I'm still not quite sure how that will go. My PoliSci class is on International Relations, and I think it will be pretty interesting; I've had the professor before and I really like her.

My TR classes are NC History and Roman Archaeology. I really like both of them. For my first paper for NC History, I think I'm going to write about the early railroad in North Carolina, since it's related to Blandwood and will give me more information for my tours.

Last night, I went to the first Intermission of the semester. Actually, it's called Counter Culture now, but I never remember that. Anyway, it was great; I really liked Mike's message on Matthew 5 and being the salt of the earth. It was so nice to hang around afterward and talk to everyone I missed over the summer.

I'm going home tomorrow after work. It's exciting, because I haven't been home since June. I think Mom and I are going to scrapbook, and of course I can't wait to see my kitties, and even Hazel. For some reason, I've lately started liking sad, smelly Hazel a lot more than I used to.

My mom sent me a package this week, in which she surprised me with Tar Heel Dead, autographed by Sarah Shaber. We like Shaber's Simon Shaw mystery series, and this book is a collection she put together of mysteries by North Carolina authors (although one of the stories is by a transplanted Yankee, making her North Carolinian status a bit dubious). But I've read two of the stories, which were both good, and have just started "The Dissipated Jeweler" by O. Henry.
